In 2000 the CTA approved it's first Master Coal Purchase and Sale Agreement (generally referred to as the Master Agreement). In 2005 the CTA's Board of Directors determined the need to update the Master Agreement. Later the CTA was approached by the Edison Electric Institute's Drafting Committee (EEI), which worked with the CTA to develop language in the Master Agreement that concurred with EEI's coal annex.
During the December 2006 CTA Annual Meeting, the voting members of the association voted their approval of every section in the Master Agreement. For questions about the drafting and approval process, contact CTA Headquarters.
