CTA to Host First Ever Webinar on the New Master Agreement

Posted on: November 17th, 2006

The Coal Trading Association (CTA) will hold its first ever webinar to review the final draft of a new Master Coal Purchase and Sale Agreement for coal trading. The one-hour event will be held on Thursday, December 7, at 3:00 p.m. ET. The event is free and open to the media. (Note: Questions from the media will be taken following the webinar.)

In 2005 the CTA’s Board of Directors determined the need to update the Master Agreement, which the CTA first developed in 2000. The work began under the direction of two subcommittees of the Standards Committee, and later was consolidated under the activities of the Master Agreement and Nonperformance Subcommittee.

The document will be submitted to the CTA membership for approval during a business meeting that will be held at 1 p.m. on December 13 in New York City. The business meeting is part of the two-day Coal Trading Conference, which will be held at the Millennium Broadway Hotel. The Coal Trading Conference is jointly hosted by the CTA and the American Coal Council. This two-day event begins with a half-day board-only meeting, followed by a half-day business meeting open only to CTA members. The conference is open to nonmembers.
